Christmas 2008

We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas this year. It was the first year we actually woke up in our own house Christmas morning. It was so much fun watching the kids open their presents. Lyla Grace loved getting more babies...and even more when we went to Tampa later that morning. We had the traditional Hughes family fried chicken breakfast with all of Clay's family. So much more exciting now that the kids are getting older.

Thanksgiving in Tybee Island

We met my brother's family, Nanna and Grandpa Tim in Tibee Island for a long Thanksgiving weekend. The cold weather didn't stop the kids from experiencing everything the beach had to offer!! It was great quality family time :)

Halloween 2008

Halloween wasn't what we had anticipated this year. Lyla Grace spent the day at the dr... ear infection and slight case of pneumonia. Needless to say she wasn't able to trick or treat but never fear because Super Nanna was here. We were able to take Mason to a party at the Armstrong's and trick or treating.

Pumpkin Carving and Painting...fun fun

Since Nanna has been in town this week I felt it was a perfect time to carve pumpkins so she could get dirty...not me! The kids loved it. Lyla Grace painted her pumpkin, the sidewalk and her shirt. Mason didn't get a speck of pumpkin guts or paint on him...love it!

Grandmama's Surprise Birthday Party

We went to Ozark for the weekend for a surprise party Clay's dad organized for Melinda. We were all (Will's family, Uncle David and some friends) were all ready to go to the Mexican restaurant for dinner when Clay locked Will's keys in his car...not good. Eric's carseat was locked in the car and we were supposed to be at the surprise party by 7. We couldn't act like it was a big deal waiting for AAA because Melinda had no idea we were on a time schedule. We were all trying to keep our cool :) Clay felt so bad but we all made it to the restaurant and tried not to act rushed at dinner. Everything worked out and she was truly surprised :)

Mason had a lot of fun dancing to the band with Grandmama and Granddaddy!

Eric is cheesing :) too cute

We were so excited for football season this year. It was the first year the kids went with us to tailgate and the first game Mason got to actually go sit with his daddy. He lasted until halftime :)

We took the kids to the helicopter museum at Fort Rucker today. It was a great day to be there because we actually got to see the helicopters practicing taking off and landing. Mason thought it was the coolest thing ever. Lyla Grace pointed to the sky and said "copter"...such a cutie!
