Rainy Days

The kids love to play in the rain and it is such a treat when we have rain in Orlando without thunder and lightning.

Clay secretly likes it more than the kids :)

1 year stats

Lyla Grace had her 1 year check up today. She weighs 24.2 lbs (92nd percentile) and 31" tall (95th percentile). She is such a fiesty little girl. I love watching her personality develop more and more everyday...too cute!!!

Hot Spring Days

The heat has already set in here in lovely Orlando!! The kids love playing in the hose. I love that Lyla Grace is fearless and loves to be drenched with the hose :)

The pups love a little hose time too!!

Garden of the Gods

We went hiking at the Garden of the Gods. It is a bunch of really big rocks. That is about the only way I know how to describe it because we skipped the informational tour. Anyway it was really fascinating and breathtaking.

Pikes Peak

We went to the top of Pikes Peak on the Cog Railroad (3 hour round trip). It was 21 degrees at the top of the mountain...FREEZING!! The view was amazing!!

Frolicking with Wolves

We went to a wolf rescue center in Divide, CO. We took a tour of the facility and also got to feed and play with the wolves. They mostly rescue wolves that people tried to have as pets and then realized they aren't trainable. The first enclosure we visited had 2 arctic wolves (one 17 year old male 125 lbs. and one 8 year old female 100 lbs.). We sat down and they ate raw chicken out of our hands. They had warned us that the wolves really like to give kisses on the face. It was a little intimidating have a wolf licking your face. After spending time (a little too close) in the first enclosure I decided to let Clay go alone and play with the wolf pups (11 month old brother and sister about 75 lbs.) He chased them and they chased him...it was really cool. While he was petting the wolf pup all of the wolves (about 15) started howling. Very cool experience!!!

Breckenridge

The first day we decided to drive about 70 miles to Breckenridge. We saw all sorts of wildlife (elk, pronghorn antelopes and rabbits) and we're in awe of the beautiful mountains.
